“ Chin hairs. I once read they were wayward eyebrow hairs – but the reality is it’s simply not nice for any woman to have whisker-like hairs growing from your chin. A few years ago, I spied the first one. It was rapidly plucked out. Then another one appeared, then another. I had reached the point that my tweezers were being used daily to pluck out 5 or 6 of these thick black hairs. As you know the hair growth cycle is several weeks so I knew there were a lot of them!
I met Rita earlier this year and she told me about the IPL treatment that could totally stop these hairs from growing. At her beautiful clinic in Clevedon, I was treated in the most professional way. The treatment was carefully explained and my health history checked. Then lying on the couch with protective goggles in place and gel applied to my chin, a hand held IPL applicator has held against the hairs on my skin and they were ‘zapped’. This ‘zap’ of Intense Pulsed Light creates a sharp, tingling sensation for literally a second or two, which is not particularly pleasant, but not painful in any way. Half a dozen or so zaps and it was done. Hair removal requires several treatments due to the growth cycles. After my second treatment there was a noticeable difference. After the third almost all the hairs had disappeared. I have just had the forth treatment, which may be the last one I need, or just one more. 5 – 6 is normal. Although this may seem like a small thing – what are a few hairs in the big scheme of things? – it has made a big difference to how I feel about my appearance. Chin hairs. They are not widely spoken about, but are very common. If you were thinking about this treatment, I highly recommend Rita and her wonderful team at The Beauty Clinic in Clevedon.
